Parliamentary Martyrs…

How can I praise?
A man I never met,
Yet his name I want to raise,
Above every red sunset.
Him I heard only in his death,
My mind to explore I did not let,
To see beyond the paper black,
I know I did in a way lack.
Brutal, unfair, was his end,
Respect they did not even extend,
The hot lance devoured him,
With an excuse blatant and lame.
How will I start this litany?
Of saints – of new saints!
For freedom they fought without agony,
Morale in our hearts they surely did paint!
Raped, abducted, bruised, and killed!
Tormentors their Fascism was filled,
They gained nothing in destroying,
A sacred life – still their work radiating.
Should I know him who labored only in façade?
When their deeds every minute add,
The enlightenment – awakening the grimace,
Of the people’s plea, it’s so sad.
I think a man’s name is honored in action,
Not the sweetness of his front potion,
A face is a face cannot have the devotion,
Of the masses whom he gave salvation.
He, they, him, and them struggled – freeing,
The dove caught,
The mother land in pain – crying,
The dove by the enemy’s orgy sought!
I honor them – their martyrdom,
For through them the enemy will face doom,
The heroes’ death now am equipped,
To fight off t he vermin that’ll heaped.
I sing to you the Internationale,
Whom its lyrics fervently you lived in your locale,
A thanks from a man,
Whom you never met, but will never be gone…
For all those who have spared their lives that the peasants and the oppressed might live in peace and secured in justice….
I dedicate this to:
Atty. Norman “Bosing” Bocar
Benben Bajado
TJ Alde III
Brgy. Captain Costuna
(Kindly add the people whom who are close to you or you just know them and have fallen victim to the tyranny of the present regime. Pass them to your friends that they may see the long list of the new heroes! And victims…)
